I first noticed the phenomenon with old T-Birds. Then other Ford products.

Now I can tell a Ford in a parking lot without seeing it. Squeak Creak. Doors and shocks. Very distinct and not as noticeable in other car makes.

So. . what manufacturing process has Ford perfected that makes their cars and trucks squeak after a few years? Neglect indicator? Bushings that aren't there anymore?

Inconsequential, but just one of those phenomenons that make me wonder what goes wrong.

My squeaks have always been doors and steering bushings.

The doors are oddly just from sagging over the years. If I readjust them they'll be fine for a year or so and slowly come back.

The steering bushings are a hoot. On three cars I've removed the bushings, shaved the washer down, and put them back in and voila the noise is gone. Seems like poor testing in that situation.

I only ever had door squeaks with the 6 some Fords we had.

The hood on my marauder squeaks, its a really common problem with panthers. I'm going to replace the hood latch next and see if that takes care of the problem.

Surprisingly enough, my dads Taurus doesn't squeak, but it does have the good old Ford power steering moaning. Although we have had the suspension replaced...
